Rather than dispel concerns about his age, Mr. Biden, 81, made it the central issue.
Democrats who have defended the president for months against his doubters — including members of his own administration — traded frenzied phone calls and text messages within minutes of the start of the debate as it became clear that Mr. Biden was not at his sharpest. Practically in despair, some took to social media to express shock, while others privately discussed among themselves whether it was too late to persuade the president to step aside in favor of a younger candidate.” . . . .
I still support Joe Biden, and so should everyone else. He was never a good debater, but he was always a good legislator. He was never perfect, and still isn’t, but some of his recent successeses were brilliant, and essential for the future of the United States and the world. I’m referring to the Inflation Reduction Act, which could have been called, The Sustainable Energy Transformation to Save the World Act. It was brilliant to call it something less controversial. If the Bidens decide to ignore this shouting to move aside, it should not be hard for the rest of us, and all the young Democratic talent, to articulate for the press and the public all the great things that Biden said horseley last night, as oppossed to the litany of lies and demented dumb ideas of the swindling con-artist Donald Trump. The main criterion for running for president, should be great leader, over great debater, or great con-artist and bully. And Joe Biden could do more for his run for re-electdion. He could really shut down illegal immigration, removing Trumps only trump card, and he could stop all offensive weapons military aid to the Israli govenment under Netanyahu, and demand a ceasefire in Gaza.
